Scroll Sprout is a Chrome extension that provides voluntary reminders to take breaks from supported short-video pages. This policy describes version 0.2.1.
The extension checks the current page URL on supported YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook domains to determine whether it is a supported video page. It checks whether that page is visible and focused to estimate viewing time. It does not save a history of URLs, video titles, page text, personal messages, or video content.
The extension stores your reminder settings and aggregate seconds per platform per day in Chrome’s local extension storage. It keeps at most 30 daily records; older records are removed as new daily records are added. Session timing and snooze state are temporary and reset when the page reloads. The extension pauses video elements when you choose a break.
Information is used only to time reminders, apply your settings, and display usage totals to you. It is not used for advertising, profiling for third parties, creditworthiness, lending, or medical assessment.
The extension does not transmit the information it processes to the developer or any third party. It contains no analytics, advertising, account system, remote code, or external-server integration. Sounds are synthesized locally. Your information is not sold, shared, or transferred by the extension.
You can disable reminders globally or for individual platforms and mute reaction sounds. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension storage. Disabling reminders does not delete previously stored totals.
This policy covers the extension only. The websites you visit and the service hosting this policy have their own privacy practices. The extension does not control their data collection.
This policy will be updated if the extension’s data practices change. For questions, use the developer contact information provided on Scroll Sprout’s Chrome Web Store listing.
